​Dr. Melissa Kvernmo was born and raised in Pennsylvania where she developed her love of animals. Growing up with horses, dogs, cats, birds and fish she always knew she wanted to be a veterinarian. She went to the University of Wyoming where she received her bachelors degree in Animal and Veterinary Sciences. After graduation, she spent a few years working at a large specialty clinic as a veterinary assistant. She graduated from St. George’s University with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2023 after completing her clinical year at the University of Illinois Veterinary School. Some of Dr. Kvernmo’s professional interests include surgery, geriatric and palliative care, shelter medicine and internal medicine. In her spare time she enjoys all things Colorado and spending time with her dog and tripod Preston. Dr. Kvernmo is Fear Free Certified.
