Dr. Wingert was born and raised on a dairy farm in central Nebraska.  Throughout his formative years he was active in 4-H showing dairy cattle on the local, region, state and national level.  Attending Colorado State University on a Union Pacific Scholarship; he graduated with an Animal Nutrition B.S. Degree.  Upon entering professional school at CSU, he was going to be a feedlot veterinarian but becase of a stroke of fate, he earned a small animal internship in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  From then on working with small animals was more challanging for him.  He practiced for 2 years in Fremont Nebraska before joining Dr. John Fuhr, founder of Broadview Animal Clinic in May 1978.  He purchased the clinic in 1983 winning a Merit Award by Veterinary Economies for hospitals built that year in the U.S.  He is currently active in the local and state veterinary organizations and continues to love his profession and helping people.
